01Who we are and who this policy applies to
This policy explains how the Classic Games app (published in Portuguese as Jogos Clássicos), for Android and iOS, developed by Kernell Games, handles personal data. It follows Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018) and the rules of Google Play and the App Store.
Questions and requests about your data: contato@kernellgames.com.br.
02Data that stays on your device
The app works without internet. This data is stored on the device itself and is not sent to Kernell Games:
- games in progress and saved games;
- high scores, statistics and game history;
- player account progress: level, XP, coins, missions, achievements and cosmetic items;
- preferences such as language, sound and theme.
On Android, if device backup is turned on, the system itself may include this data in your Google account backup so it can be restored on a new device. That backup is made and stored by Google, according to your device settings.
03Data sent to the cloud
We use Google Firebase to keep a copy of your high scores. To do that:
- Anonymous identifier. The first time the app opens, Firebase Authentication creates a random code for your app. It contains no name, email or phone number and does not directly identify you.
- High scores per game. For each game: best score, number of games played, best time and date of the last update, linked to the anonymous identifier.
As with any internet connection, Google's servers receive technical data about the connection, such as the IP address, in order to deliver the service.
Aggregate usage statistics. We may count how long each game is played and how many play sessions fall into each duration range (for example, 1 to 5 minutes), totaled by day, approximate country and platform (Android or iOS). What is sent does not include the anonymous identifier, advertising ID, name, email, exact device model or precise location. The country is estimated from the network at the time of sending, and the IP address is not stored. To block fake submissions, the app uses Firebase App Check, which confirms with Google Play Integrity or Apple DeviceCheck that the request comes from the original app.
04Error reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
To find and fix failures, the app uses Google Firebase Crashlytics. When the app closes unexpectedly or runs into an error, it sends a technical report containing:
- a description of the error and the place in the code where it happened;
- device model and operating system, app version, free memory and storage, screen orientation and battery state;
- the state of the app at that moment: open screen and game, language, theme and whether the app was in the foreground or background;
- a log of the last steps before the error, such as screens opened and games finished;
- a random installation identifier, created by Firebase, that lets us count how many devices were affected.
The report contains no name, email, nickname, typed text, advertising ID, location or the anonymous identifier of your high scores. It is used only to fix and improve the app, never for ads.
05Messages you send us (Contact us)
In Settings › Contact us you can write to Kernell Games: report a problem, suggest an improvement, send praise or ask a question. Sending is optional. When you send a message, we receive:
- the subject you chose, the text you wrote and, if you choose to provide them, a rating from 1 to 5 and the game the message is about;
- app version, device model, operating system version and app language;
- your level and total number of games played in the app;
- the approximate country, estimated from the network at the time of sending (the IP address is not stored);
- the app's anonymous identifier, to limit the number of messages per day and to group messages from the same device.
The form does not ask for a name or email, so we do not reply to individual messages sent through it. Please avoid including personal data in your message; for requests about your data, use contato@kernellgames.com.br. Without a connection, the message is kept on the device and sent later. To confirm that the message comes from the original app, we use Firebase App Check.
Messages are used only to fix and improve the app, never for ads. The app may also ask whether you are enjoying it and, if you wish, open the store's rating screen; the rating is made and published by the store itself.
06Ads (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show ads, limit repetition, measure ads and prevent fraud, AdMob may collect the device's advertising ID, the IP address, device and system information and your interactions with ads. Google handles this data according to its policy for partner apps.
- Personalized ads, based on your interests, are shown only to adults and only with your consent. Where the law requires it, the app shows a consent form the first time it opens. On iOS, the app asks for tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) only from adults.
- Non-personalized ads are the default for anyone who declines, for users under 18 and, in Brazil, for users whose age the store does not provide. For users under 13, ads are flagged as directed to children.
- The rewarded ad, which doubles the coins from the daily chest, is always optional.
You can change your choice in the app's privacy settings, where available in your region, and on your device: on Android, under Settings › Google › Ads (you can delete your advertising ID); on iOS, under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
07Age provided by the store
To choose the type of ad, the app checks the age range provided by the store, through Google Play Age Signals on Android and Declared Age Range on iOS, when you allow it. The age range is kept only in memory while the app is open: it is not saved, sent to us or used for any other purpose. The app never asks you to type in your age.
08In-app purchases
The purchase to remove ads is processed by Google Play or the App Store. Kernell Games does not receive card or payment details: the app receives from the store only the purchase confirmation and the country of your store account, which is used to apply that country's ad rules. The purchase is linked to your store account and can be restored there.
09What we don't do
- We don't ask for sign-up, name, email, phone number or password to play.
- We don't access precise location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.
- We don't sell or rent personal data.
- There is no chat or contact between players in the app.
- We don't send promotional notifications.
10Why we process this data (legal bases)
- Running the app and backing up high scores: performance of the service you chose to use and our legitimate interest in keeping your high scores safe.
- Aggregate statistics and fraud prevention: legitimate interest in improving the games and protecting the service, without identifying you.
- Error reports: legitimate interest in keeping the app working and fixing failures.
- Contact us messages: legitimate interest in responding to people who write to us and improving the app.
- Personalized ads: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Non-personalized ads: legitimate interest in keeping the app free.
- Purchases: performance of the purchase contract.
12How long we keep data
- Data on the device: until you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
- High scores in the cloud: while the app is active, or until you ask for deletion.
- Aggregate statistics: each submission is deleted within 90 days; the daily totals per game, which identify no one, are kept to compare usage over time.
- Error reports: up to 90 days.
- Contact us messages: while they are useful for improving the app, or until you ask for deletion.
- Ad data: according to Google's retention policies.
13Your rights
Under the LGPD, you may request confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion, information about sharing and review of your consent. Depending on where you live, local laws (such as the GDPR in the European Union and the United Kingdom, or state privacy laws in the United States) may give you similar rights, which we honor in the same way. Write to contato@kernellgames.com.br. Because the app does not use a name or email, we may ask for information that helps us locate your device's records. You may also file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or with the data protection authority where you live.
To delete local data, simply clear the app's data or uninstall it.
14Children and teenagers
The games' content is suitable for all ages. For users under 18, identified by the store's age signal, the app does not show personalized ads or ask for tracking permission, and does not collect any data beyond what is described here. If you are responsible for a child and believe we have improperly collected their data, contact us at contato@kernellgames.com.br.
15Security
Data sent to the cloud travels encrypted (HTTPS). Server-side access rules allow each anonymous identifier to write only its own high scores. Aggregate statistics and Contact us messages cannot be read by the app.
16Changes to this policy
When the app changes the way it handles data, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Important changes will also be announced in the app or on the store page.
